I purchased this template, made a clean install, imported the sql dump file, uploaded the images and now I am in the process of tailoring the website to fit the purpose. So far so good (btw it is a beautiful template).
For the website purpose I need the Dutch language to be active. I tried to install the Dutch language file, but the system gave an error : could not copy the ini-files into their respective directories.
I dit a manual installation with an FTP programm, but I still can not choose the Dutch language in the administrator panel.
When I take a look at the language files with my FTP programm, they are all there.
I am stuck, so please advice.
Best regards, Robert

Dear AS Team,
Thanks for the hint, but I do not need a multi-language website. Just a website in the Dutch language. When I made the clean install, I installed the Dutch version of Joomla 2.5.3.
After I imported the sql dump, the language was changed into the English language and I can not change it back to the Dutch language as I already wrote and explained to you. Please advice.

Hello robert10,
The sql dump file has English version only, to change the language of admin panel you can in the: Site->Global Configuration->Language Manager.

Dear AS Team,
that is exactly the problem. I do not have a choice. The only language that seems to be installed is English (according to the controlpanel). Despite of all the things I did performed and have already described.

Hello robert10,
You can find links to the long list of translation teams and their language packs at: http://community.joomla.org/translations.html
Find the language you need, download and install as any other extension. Then set this new language as default in the administration area.

Dear AS Team,
thank you for all the good advice, but that was not the actual problem.
After making a clean install for the fourth time and configuring the site in a specific order, it is all working now.
I made a clean install in the English language. Then I imported the sql dump file and only after that I installed the template. After the template was installed I installed the Dutch language files and see ... it is working.
When I used another order, for some reason the language files couldnot be installed. "Sometimes you should not try to understand technology :-)".
Although you couldnot give me the answer, thank you for all the attention and your swift replies. This issue can be closed.
