i have tried and tried, just can't get the start page to work and look like you have it in your website/ demo preview, with the footer/ social footer in the bottom...don't know how to move or position so it stays down there like you have it.

The icons are in the module position called social. You may download and install sp social module; it is free. To preview other module positions, there is a link, http://www.primertemplates.com/uniconsult/?tp=1 under features in the menu section which you may use to preview the available module positions. Meanwhile, I am still working on a new quickstart package for Joomla 3.
