I am about to buy this template, but want to test out the free version with changes first, is the premium version using the same .css files , so that I can use those changes after I install premium?

99% it is the same css files, but our suggestion is to put all your css in the style.custom.css file.

having hard time finding the background-styling of submenu items, what class or id is it?

Thank you for the answer, but..I did not fully ask the right question, I was actually trying to change the hover background color on submenu.
Am able to change the states on main menu items, but cannot seem to trigger the states on submenu items.
Appreciate the help.
