I had purchased it in 2015. Is that version compatible with PHP 7.1.
If I need to upgrade, how can I do it (without any cost)

The template version from 2015 is not compatible with PHP 7.1
Sorry, there is no option to update to the latest version without any cost.
After installation the site only shows:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_internal_encoding() in D:\Documenten\Websites\joomla\components\com_k2\helpers\route.php on line 86
Very disappointed!
As you see I made an installation on local host Apache 2.0 Php 5.6.32
Whats wrong.
I updated site of my customer to joomla 3.9.2 and PHP 7.1. Now I have an error
